Using snippets from the original soundtrack, HBO's in-house creative team partnered with executive producer Lou Adler to announce the 40th Anniversary midnight streaming event with a twist on the modern lyric video.

Using reviews from the film's re-release, this custom trailer encouraged fans of the cult classic to host their own streaming parties and tweet along with familiar movie milestones. The videos accumulated 50k views across digital platforms, while Rocky Horror star Susan Sarandon shared her "Janet" video with fans.
